FOREST HILLS - A youth baseball club based in Forest Hills rallied from behind in one game and shut out the favorites in another to become national champions earlier this month. The Tampa Boltz competed against 28 teams in the AAU national baseball tournament for players 9 and under, held at the Disney Wide World of Sports complex. The boys played 13 games in six days, pushing through four games on July 19 to win the championship. ...more

HUDSON -- West Florida Young Guns were a hit with the Pasco County Commission this week. The youth baseball team, which will compete in a national tournament next month, was saluted by commissioners. Based in Hudson, the Young Guns recently won a state championship. The team of players ages 6 to 8 earned a berth in the National Amateur Athletic Union Tournament at Disney's Wide World of Sports in Orlando July 13-20. ...more
