Mary Malool's letter about Barack Obama gave no sensible or logical reasons why anyone should vote for him. The only qualifications for the presidency listed in the letter were Obama's strength, vitality and intelligence. Personally I can't see the strength, the vitality maybe, and as for intelligence, he reads a teleprompter while reading some other speechwriter's thoughts and words. What weren't listed were Obama's connections with undesirable friends and his close association with ACORN, which is now under investigation for voter registration and fraud. Nothing is said about his inexperience serving only 147 working days in the Senate before announcing his bid for the presidency, and then voting "present" 20 times on issues. Evidently he can't seem to make a simple decision on a "yea or nay" vote. Do we need a person like that in the White House with his hand on the switch or to answer the 2 a.m. phone call? ...more

In regard to Sarah Palin and all the attention focused on her, I have to wonder, when did we start treating politicians like celebrities? More and more it seems we act as if these people are somehow better than the common person. And the last thing these egotistical people need is celebrity status. Sarah Palin is a virtual unknown. She has very little experience in politics, and has yet to speak honestly about her beliefs. In the ads and interviews so far, she has simply followed a script. In the matter of her brother-in-law trooper, why doesn't she just say, "Yes, I tried my best to remove him from his job. He's a bully and actually threatened my family with physical violence. I think anyone would do the same?" ...more
