LAKE PLACID — Tiles by Fran Inc. has been in business in Lake Placid more than 20 years, but the company's Paula Tharpe believes few people in the community know about the decorative tile operation. But that should change because of a new address. Tiles by Fran Inc. has moved from Placid Lakes to 208 N. Main Ave. in downtown Lake Placid. "I knew we had to move into town to get traffic and let people know we are in business," Tharpe said. Fran and Paul Hadden, Paula's parents, started the business in the mid-1980s.
