When I was young and in school, I realized every grade will have its bully. I made it through school and never really had to face off with that bully. Why? Who knows, maybe I was lucky. Now that I am a parent and have witnessed the newest bully to enter the picture, I wonder how we will face off with this monster. ...more

I would like to thank everyone who helped make this year's Halloween Terror Trail at the Humane Society a huge success. It would not have been possible without the help of so many people. The high school students who volunteered their time, many repeatedly, were absolutely phenomenal. They came from all three high schools in the county, and each school should be very proud of the students representing their school. We had several repeat volunteers from Lake Placid Health Care Center. The employees and volunteers from the Humane Society were also there night after night. An all new Terror Trail will be back next year; bigger, better and scarier than ever. ...more
