Stock up on plants at club's event

PLANT CITY - The Plant City Garden Club will kick off the fall gardening season Oct. 10 with a new event, GardenFest 2009.
The show will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Union Station Welcome Center, 102 N. Palmer St.. There will be a host of vendors offering a variety of plants, garden art and accessories for garden and outdoor living areas. Speakers will include Phil Elting, who will have lots of advice and good gardening tips.
Admission is by a $3 donation.
The Garden Club and Plant City Daybreak Rotary Club will be serving up hamburgers, hot dogs, sodas and homemade cookies.
