Get leadership tips
Lisa Huetteman, managing partner and co-founder of Black Diamond Associates, will be featured at a leadership seminar.
Huetteman has spoken to audiences around the globe and has coached executives in public, private, government and nonprofit organizations.
The Plant City chapter of the American Business Women's Association is sponsoring the seminar at Red Rose Inn and Suites' Twelve Oaks Room, 2011 N. Wheeler St., Plant City.
Registration is at 8:30 a.m. and the seminar is 9 a.m. to noon, with a lunch buffet at noon. The cost is $40, or $35 for association members, and includes lunch.

Oldies but goodies
Styx will perform in concert with guests REO Speedwagon and Night Ranger at 6:30 p.m. at the Ford Amphitheatre at the Florida State Fairgrounds, 4800 U.S. 301 N., Tampa.
Ticket prices range from $19.50 to $59.50 for reserved seats, or $60 for a four-pack of reserved seating tickets. The lawn area is closed for this concert.

A night for teens
Dancing and pizza will be part of Teen Night, to be held from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Planteen Recreation Center, 301 Dort St., Plant City. Admission is $7 for the evening, which is for ages 12 to 15.

Hit the dance floor from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Stardust Dance Center, 1405 S. Collins St., Plant City.
Mary Dague will provide the music - and a dance lesson at 3:30 p.m.
The cost of the dance, sponsored by the Lakeland Chapter of USA Dance, is $6 for members and $8 for nonmembers
The dance at Plant City Plaza shopping center includes food, refreshments and fellowship.

Swing your partner
Fall dance lessons begin Monday at Strawberry Square, 4401 Promenade Blvd., Plant City.
Square dance lessons for beginners will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Mondays starting Nov. 2 with caller/teacher Roland Blanchette. The first lesson on Monday is free.
Square dance lessons for those who haven't danced for a while or need a brush-up will be 8 to 9:30 p.m. Mondays starting Nov. 2 with Blanchette as the caller.
Beginner round dance lessons will be held 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sundays starting Nov. 8 with cuers Charlie and Leona Lovelace.

Make a wish list
Sister's & Company's annual Wish List Party will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 5.
Guests can drop in to the boutique at 104 E. Reynolds St., Plant City, to fill out their holiday wish lists and enjoy food, friends, fun and gifts.

Register now for Christmas in Park
The deadline is Nov. 6 for families to register for Christmas in the Park.
Registration is at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center, 1601 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
Christmas in the Park, sponsored by the Plant City Recreation and Parks Department, will be Dec. 12 at the recreation center and will include food for everyone and games for the children.
Merchants, clubs and churches will provide toys to be distributed to children in attendance ages 5 to 9.
A driver's license or photo ID is required to register and registration is limited to 200 families.

Get healthy at free fair
Free food and health screenings will be offered at South Florida Baptist Hospital's second Health Fair at FishHawk Ranch, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 7.
Health screenings will include blood pressure, cholesterol, skin cancer and osteoporosis. Health information, including data on swine flu, will be available, and there will be children's activities such as a bike rodeo, moonwalk and magic show. The hospital also will offer a cookout lunch, healthy cooking demonstrations and live music. Participants may register to win a Wii videogame console.
There will be no charge for the health fair, which will be at Park Square, 16144 Churchview Drive, Lithia.

Art gallery sets grand opening
Light refreshments, door prizes, music and more will be part of the Nov. 6 grand opening at The Art Lounge Gallery at 119 E. Reynolds St., Plant City.
The show from 6 to 10 p.m. will feature the work of Anna Alpin, Beverly Farley, Carolyn Miller, Father Carlos Rojas, Debra Bryant, Eric Barber, Kim Wells and Matt Rentz. Special guest artist is Jesse Starr.
Next door to the gallery, at The Corner Store, there will be a wine tasting.
Dinner to help missionary
A fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 7 will help a missionary who's headed next year to Slovenia, a country in Central Europe that shares a border with Italy.
The dinner will be served at First Assembly of God of Plant City, 602 Charlie Griffin Road. Proceeds will help missionary Bruce Page, who is raising money so his wife and three daughters can accompany him when he departs for Slovenia for four years.
A $6.50 donation for adults and $4.50 for children 12 and younger is requested for the meals. Available for eat-in or carry out, they will include fish, grits, hushpuppies, baked beans, dessert and tea.

A paradise for motorcyclists
The monthly Bike Fest will rev up in downtown Plant City from 5 to 9 p.m. Nov. 7. The action will be in and around Union Station Welcome Center, 102 N. Palmer St.
Bike Fest features live music, vendors and the roar of motorcycles, old and new.
