PLANT CITY - Have you dreamed of being a festival queen or other member of festival royalty?
If so, signups are coming soon for both the Florida Strawberry Festival's pageants.
Young women who want to enter the queen's pageant must attend a mandatory orientation, with a parent or legal guardian, at 2 p.m. Nov. 8 in the expo hall at the festival grounds. Pageant applications will be available to Plant City area women who are between the ages of 16 and 20 as of next March 4. Completed applications must be hand delivered by noon Nov. 20 at the festival's office, 2202 W. Reynolds St.
The contest will be limited to 35 applicants, who will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
A queen, first maid and three court members will be crowned at the pageant.

Applications for the junior royalty will be distributed at a registration and drawing Nov. 9 at the festival expo hall. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and close at 7 p.m.
There will be four age classifications with a winner, first maid and three court members in each group: baroness, 5- and 6-year-olds; duchess, 7- to 9-year-olds; princess, 10- to 12-year-olds; and queen, 13- to 15-year-olds.
Each applicant will be given a registration form as she enters the expo hall and the parent or legal guardian can finalize the form. A $30 entry fee will be collected if a child's name is drawn. A mandatory workshop will be conducted Dec. 1 at the expo hall.
Rules for junior royalty pageant will be available Nov. 2 at festival's office or at www.flstrawberryfestival.com under contest rules.
