Lip-sync fundraiser to help neighborhood group

PLANT CITY - Art Meets Entertainment is producing a Nov. 21 show featuring lip-syncing to popular tunes.

The event, Lip Sync 2009 In the Neighborhood, is a fundraiser for the Plant City Community Development Corp., a nonprofit neighborhood improvement organization. The event will be at the John R. Trinkle Community Center, 2206 E. Cherry St., on the local campus of Hillsborough Community College.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with the show at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $20.

"This is an all-volunteer production," organizer Simone Gans Barefield said. "It is a fun event benefitting our community's premiere affordable housing organization."

The show includes a large cast that will dance and lip-sync to popular Broadway tunes, Michael Jackson hits, including the 1980s hit "Thriller," and other songs.

Concessions and bring-your-own-bottle setups will be available for purchase.

No one younger than 18 will be admitted.
