It's all free at Plant City garage sale

Members of the Marshall High School Class of '70 will have a free garage sale at Marie B. Ellis Park from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 16.

Class members, who dubbed themselves "The Class That Never Was," actually graduated from Plant City High School in 1970. They were transferred from Marshall when it closed as a high school during their senior year due to desegregation. Class members formed a club that is involved in neighborhood events aimed at benefitting the community.

Club members will bring donated items such as clothes, small appliances, books, shoes, hats, lamps, fans and other miscellaneous items. All the merchandise will be free for the taking.

Marie B. Ellis Park is on Laura Street between Lake and Waters streets. The free garage sale will be in the pavilion building at the south end of the park.

The club will also provide free hot dogs, chips and drinks.
