Pub Plans Irish Block Party

Irish Block Party Planned Saturday
PLANT CITY - A local pub is holding an Irish block party Saturday that includes children's activities and a dog costume contest.
O'Brien's Irish Pub, 1701 S. Alexander St., bills it as a pre-St. Patrick's Day celebration. The festivities start at 2 p.m. and include face painting, balloon artist, potato sack races and more. In lieu of a coverage charge, guests are asked to bring canned or nonperishable foods for a food drive to help the needy.
A dog costume contest is at 5 p.m. with prizes for the best dressed dog. The donation is $5 per entry and will benefit the Kids and Canines organization.
