PLANT CITY - The chief executive officer of Kforce Professional Staffing told a group of religious and business leaders that he uses biblical principles in running the Tampa-based company.
Dave Dunkel was the featured speaker at a Jan. 15 meeting of Marketplace Events of Florida, which promotes religion in the workplace. Dunkel was brought in to help promote a Feb. 6-7 seminar featuring Henry and Richard Blackaby, who are father and son Christian ministers and authors.
Dunkel said he regularly meets with Henry Blackaby and finds him a source of inspiration in his personal and professional life. Dunkel said the Plant City conference would be "the "experience of your life."
Dunkel gave several tips on leading a spiritual life, some of which he developed with Blackaby's inspiration:
•Depend on God. "He wants us to depend on him every day and every moment," he said.
•Seek God's wisdom. "The world doesn't need more of man's wisdom. The world needs more of God's wisdom," he said.
•Daily devotion is a must. Dunkel said he gets up early so he can have a quiet time to pray and prepare for the day.
•Everyone's role model should be Jesus.
The Blackaby conference is sponsored by Marketplace Events, formerly known as Strategic Marketplace Connections, which was founded by the Rev. Norm Blanton. The group, which promotes the use of religious values in business, sponsored a similar conference in 2006, Blanton said.
The conference was a "blessing," he said.
