PLANT CITY Tomlin Middle School's Parent Teacher Student Association plans to offer tips to parents who want to talk to their children about sexual abstinence.

The 90-minute seminar, entitled iParent, will be presented twice, at 9:15 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Jan. 27 in the media center at the school, 501 N. Woodrow Wilson St. According to a statement from the PTSA, "Studies show that teens would delay sexual activity if they were able to have more open and honest communication with their parents."

The presentations are open to the public and compliment abstinence education already offered to students. This is the first time the PTSA has offered the seminars, association president Stephanie Shuff said.

For information, call Shuff at (813) 752-3963 or go to www.askmewhyiwait.com.
