PLANT CITY Jeff Steinberg, his wife, Ellen, and their ministry team will present a special 10:45 a.m. Sunday service and concert at the Plant City Community Church of the Nazarene, 2402 Mud Lake Road.
Born in 1951 with no hands and deformed legs, Steinberg spent much of his early years in hospitals, including Shriner's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, where he underwent orthopedic surgery, learned to walk with a brace and was fitted with his first prosthetic arm. At age 9 he was made a ward of the state and placed in the Good Shepherd Home for the Physically Handicapped in Allentown, Pa., where he lived until age 19.
Through the love of a local Christian couple, the young Jewish boy discovered the faith that became the foundation of his life, according to the Jeff Steinberg Team Web site. He has spent more than 35 years sharing the message in music and testimony in countless venues from North and Central America to U.S. military bases in Germany.
. There is no admission charge, but an freewill offering will be taken.
