Plant City Pregnancy Care Center Welcomes New Executive Director

PLANT CITY Darlene Davis has been named the new executive director of the Pregnancy Care Center of Plant City.

Davis started in the position Feb. 2, replacing Mary Alice Hendricks, who announced her resignation about six months ago.

"Mary Alice surprised us with her decision," said Vic Driskell, a member of the Pregnancy Care Center's board of directors. "Mary Alice concluded a very successful term as our executive director. Our search to replace her began immediately and we are pleased to introduce Darlene Davis as the executive director."

Davis was formerly executive director of the Care Pregnancy Center of Lenawee in Michigan. She also was executive director at a home for single mothers and was a hairdresser for 30 years.

Davis, who was born and raised in Adrian, Mich., has been married to her husband, Max, for 42 years. They have four grown children and five grandchildren, all of whom are living in theMichigan and Ohio area.

Davis recently moved to Lakeland to care for her parents.

"I am so grateful to be here and I look forward to serving this great community," she said.
The Pregnancy Care Center, 304 N. Collins St., offers such services as counseling, sonograms and prenatal care.
