PLANT CITY - The Plant City Rotary Club recently installed its new president, Jimmy Carapezza, who was sworn in by Rotary District Gov. Beverly Hunt.
After the new directors had been sworn in, Carapezza made his incoming remarks and recognized outgoing president Bill Davis, who was presented a past president's pin and plaque.
The installation of the club's 2009-10 officers was held June 29 at the Red Rose Inn and Suites' ballroom.
Hunt gave remarks and presented Davis with the club's Presidential Citation for the 2008-09 year. Perfect attendance awards were given out and Zane Blanton, the only remaining charter member of the club, was presented a Distinguished Service Award. Linda McCall, club executive secretary, was recognized and thanked for her continued service.
Outgoing officers and directors were recognized as well as this year's Wild Game cookout chairmen, James Surrency and Keith Smith. Brian Griffin was presented a plaque after being named this year's Rotarian of the year.
