Florida Strawberry Festival Lists Swine Show Winners

PLANT CITY The following is a list of winners of the Florida Strawberry Festival swine show.

Eighty Hillsborough County students in grades 3-12, participated in the show. All student participants were required to have a minimum 2.5 grade point average and their entry must have weighed at least 200 pounds. The participants were judged on showmanship, exhibition skill and their industry knowledge by a panel of industry leaders.

Winning participants were eligible to receive rosettes, ribbons, plaques and premium money for their achievements.

Grand champion, Dustin Lawson (Class VI), Turkey Creek FFA; his entry was 269 pounds at the official weigh-in, and was sold during the youth swine sale auction for $18 per pound.

Reserve grand champion, Eric Swartz (Class II), St. Martin Chapter FFA; his entry weighed 245 pounds at the official weigh-in, and was sold for $7 a pound during the youth swine sale auction.

Class I, first place, Dalton Davis; second place, Kade Greene, third place, Jarrett Gillman, fourth place, Ema Rivera; fifth place, Andrew Sparkman; sixth place, T.J. Hutchinson; seventh place, Chelsea Farrell; eighth place, Gracie Lee; and ninth place, Jerri Rowell.

Class II, first place, Eric Swartz; second place, Justus Siefert; third place, Lane Harrell; fourth place, Andrew Gmytruk; fifth place, Colton Wells; sixth place, Rafael Criz; seventh place, Sumer Hyde; eighth place, Haylee Russell; and ninth place, Miranda Lane.

Class III, first place, Kaleb Tew; second place, Brooke Freeman; third place, Ethan Fernandez; fourth place, Morgan Schaub; fifth place, Dalton McHenry; sixth place, Samantha Farkas; seventh place, Leigh Lenoce; eighth place, Levi Mayo; and ninth place, Kelsey Newsome.

Class IV, first place, Nicholas Andrlik; second place, Sydney Roberts; third place, Byron Ratliff; fourth place, Rachel Schaub; fifth place, Meghan Sodders; sixth place, Alissa Baker; seventh place, Kelcie Williams; eighth place, Channing Thorpe; and ninth place, Tyler Glenn.

Class V, first place, Jacob Burnette; second place, Ashley Nobles; third place, Meredith Delcastillo; fourth place, Konnore Long; fifth place, Hannah Wilson; sixth place, Shelby Johnson; seventh place, Jamie Harder; and eighth place, Heath Hanks.

Class VI, first place, Dustin Lawson; second place, Jessica Andrlik; third place, Allison Thomas; fourth place, Gary Baker; fifth place, Courtney Maxwell; sixth place, Shawn Swartz; seventh place, Clayton Todd; eighth place, Caleb Jordan; ninth place, Kyle Moore; and 10th place, Faith Gude.

Class VII, first place, Michaella Christie; second place, Haylee Mathis; third place, Lindsey Farkas; fourth place, Jake Maxwell; fifth place, Brantley Kunze; sixth place, Clint Walden; seventh place, Courtney Sloan; eighth place, Chase May; and ninth place, Amy Bush.

Class VIII, first place, Tate Whatley, second place, Katelynn Lewis; third place, Clay Joyner; fourth place, Anna Conrad; fifth place, Christian Renky; sixth place, Scott Bartlett Jr.; seventh place, Meagan Petitt; eight place, Amanda Biondino; and ninth place, Shane Walls.

Class IX, first place, Tristan Simmons; second place, Aaron Kent; third place, Brooke Samuels; fourth place, Aly Joyner; fifth place, Jay Roberts; sixth place, Jonathan Wall; seventh place, Naomi Gelfenstein; and eighth place, Brittany Smothers.
