Magazine Publisher Named Ag Journalist Of The Year

PLANT CITY Karen Berry, publisher of a Plant City-based magazine, has been named the Florida Farm Bureau's Ag Journalist of the Year.

This is the second award recently for Berry, who started In The Field about three years ago. In August, she was honored as agribusiness owner of the year by the Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce and Farm Credit of Central Florida.

She was nominated for the latest award by Hillsborough County Farm Bureau President Dale McClellan for "having made substantial contributions to the industry through your work," according to a Sept. 11 letter from the state Farm Bureau.

Berry, who worked in advertising sales for The Tampa Tribune and other publications, publishes editions of her magazine in Hillsborough and other areas.

Berry will be presented the award Oct. 9 in Orlando at the 67th annual meeting of the Florida Farm Bureau Federation.
