I feel so fortunate to have known Robert for the past 12 years. He was honest, caring and always there when you needed a shoulder. You could count on his prayers to help you through difficult times. His dedication, sense of humor and compassion will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to Judy and his family. May God bless you all and comfort you in your grief.

I was Robert's secretary for the past 20 years. I appreciated his logic, organization, and his drive for excellence. He was a wonderful friend to my husband, Matt, and me, especially, during my recovery from injuries in an accident in 2006. Although he will no longer be physically present at Sunshine State and in the many organizations with which he served, I hope our memory of his attitude and goals will help to keep Plant City a fine place in which to live and work.

Robert will be forever in our hearts and minds. He made work more enjoyable with his corny jokes and would always have an open door to listen when needed. He will be greatly missed by us at Sunshine and especially my family. My daughter Alix shared a birthday with Robert, and each year they would exchange something special between them. I know that he is no longer in any pain and our Lord and Savior has taken him home. He once said, "When my time comes, I'll be upstairs going over the books for the big man and I don't mean Floyd." I will always laugh at that because that is what he would want us to do ... enjoy life at its fullest and cherish the ones that we have. My thoughts and prayers are with Judy Brown. She knows we are here for her at any time. My prayers are also with Robert's family at this time of grief. We all love you and will miss you dearly.

For as long as I can remember Robert and his family attended nearly all of Plant City Entertainment shows. He was always such an avid supporter of the community theater, and he demonstrated that by his loyal attendance and trusted advice. I know that personally I will miss his laughter and applause from the center, front seat in the audience.

Robert had a heart of gold. I know I can say that for me and my co-workers, we will always have some great memories especially of the department Christmas dinners that we had. I can't believe he's gone, but he will never be forgotten. It will never be the same at Sunshine State without Robert. I know God has taken him home. Rest in peace.

Eulogy is Greek for "good word"
Whether it is said by many or few
By those who wish to express
Their special relationship with you.
I knew you as a good man
Whom God's angels took away
But I believe and trust His word
So we'll meet again someday.
You told us not to shed tears
To celebrate for you instead
For it is now with the heavenly Father
You rest your weary head.
No more pain for you now, Robert
Hope it's golfing weather every day
I will miss your jokes, advice and friendship
More than these mere words can say
Thank you for all you have given
Thank you for all you have shared
Thank you for being a great boss
Thank you for showing you cared.
I will miss you very much. My prayers for all your family.

I would like to express my sympathy to the entire Brown family; previous and present. Robert gave of himself and always had time for everyone. He granted an "interview" to my then-10-year-old daughter Savannah that she needed to do for a class project. (It had to be a public figure.) He answered every single question without hesitation, including ones about his eye patch. He made Savannah feel very comfortable. She submitted her project along with a nice photo of the two of them; to be rewarded with an A. I gained much respect for him. As busy as he was with the city and keeping our association financially sound, he chose to take time out for my daughter. Our hearts break for the ones left behind. Cherish your memories and know that our Father has the ultimate plan.

What can I say about Robert that hasn't already been said. He was indeed a great person. Every time I came to visit my mother I could expect a big hug from him when he noticed me in her office. He had a wonderful personality, and a great sense of humor. I looked forward to every company picnic so I could see just how excited he got about his volleyball. Robert was an all-around great guy; he will be missed, but he is in a better place now.
