PLANT CITY With the season more than half over, the Plant City High Raiders can finally come home.
Raider Stadium has been cleared for football action after new turf took longer than expected to take root. Plant City High has been playing its home games at other stadiums.
The Raiders will play their first home game 7:30 p.m. Friday against Newsome.
"You always want to play at home," Raider head coach Jason Strunk said. "It hurts not having the familiar elements of a home game. The good thing is we have a great new surface for our players to play on. That is the most important thing. It has been a long process but it is now finally done."
