Here are some of the condolences on TBO.com to the family of Brooke McDonald, 17, of Plant City, who was shot and killed Oct. 4 at party by a man who police said didn't know the revolver was loaded. Thomas Andrew Grieco, 20, has been charged by officers with manslaughter in the shooting.

Brooke was a very special friend to my entire family. She spent many fun times at my house, and my children, Carly and Este, in turn, spent great times at the McDonald home. Brooke was almost like a member of my family since she was in kindergarten. Even when she was young, she was so vivacious and filled with laughter and happiness. Her fun personality was infectious, and her smile was a mile wide! She was also vivacious, kind, and intelligent and was a young person who loved people very easily.

As humans, we feel that her death was untimely and unfair, and great sadness has overcome those who knew her. But her beautiful smile and contagious giggles and laughter - along with many fond memories - will never be forgotten. I believe that Brooke would want us to remember her, but she would want for us all to move on with our lives in the best way possible.

We must lean on the Lord and lean on each other as we attempt to move onward with our lives. We must also keep our prayers going for Brooke's parents, Barbara and Mitch, and for her big sister, Danielle, as well as for Brooke's entire extended family and for all who loved little Brooke so deeply.

May you rest in peace, my little special friend and little buddy. I will always love you and keep you in a special place in my heart.

One more thought is that Heaven will be a little more fashionable with your high heels and fashionable style!

Brooke, I love you and will never forget you!

Brooke aka BIG MAC got me through some hard times. She always put a smile on my face. When me and Brooke were together we could never stop laughing. She always knew just what to say at just the right times. I love Brooke, and I can't possibly imagine what the McDonald family is going through right now. My prayers are with you.

Brooke, I love you; thank you for all the things you have shown me. You will be missed.

McDonald Family,

I haven't seen Brooke or Danielle in many years since my dad worked with Mr. McDonald at SunBelt. I remember driving the two of them around on the golf cart on the weekends while our dads worked. I am very sorry for your loss, and we have you in our prayers. She has always had such an amazing smile!

R.I.P. Brooke!
