Discount Grocery To Open Next Month
Discount grocer Aldi opened three new Central Florida locations last week, but its store under construction in Plant City is not scheduled to open until Dec. 15.
The chain that says it offers high-quality produce, fresh meats and grocery items at up to 50 percent less than competing grocers, entered the U.S. market in 1976.
The Nov. 10 opening of stores in Pinellas Park, Orlando and Titusville brings to 23 the company's numbers in Central Florida.
Nationwide, 100 new Aldi stores have opened this year.
The building permit for construction of the $900,000 store at 3021 James L. Redman Parkway was issued by the city in June.
