PLANT CITY For those too eager to wait for Friday's planned opening of Premiere Cinema 8 at Lake Walden Square shopping center, a sneak-preview charity benefit will offer a choice of films, plus snacks.
Doors are scheduled to open at 6:30 p.m. Thursday for the event, an All Children's Hospital fundraiser, with free admission on a first-come basis, according to Premiere Cinemas, the Texas-based company that completely remodeled the theater closed since March 2007. Seating is limited.
At 7 p.m., four different films will be screened in auditoriums at the eight-screen theater, 220 W. Alexander St., just west of James L. Redman Parkway. Scheduled to be shown are: "The Incredible Hulk," "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," "The Happening" and, possibly, "No Country for Old Men."
In addition to admission, patrons will receive free popcorn and a soft drink. Donations for All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg will be accepted.
