PLANT CITY - A scholarship was presented recently to a Plant City High School student in memory of a certified public accountant who was killed in a car accident last year on his way to a hunting trip.

Tanay Tatum was the winner of the first Andy Mueller Memorial Scholarship. She was presented with the $1,500 scholarship by Brett and Trey Mueller, sons of Andy Mueller, who died Nov. 9 when his car left the road and crashed near Camden, Ala.

He was a partner in the Plant City CPA firm of Bella, Hermida, Gillman, Hancock & Mueller.

Tatum was chosen based on excellence in the classroom, sports and leadership. She was president of the senior class and student council. She had a 5.56 grade-point average and lettered on the varsity girls basketball and golf teams.

She plans to attend Vassar College in New York.

The presentation was made during Plant City High's annual awards night program.
