PLANT CITY - The Gibson Golf Academy at Walden Lake Golf and Country Club, 2001 Clubhouse Drive, is offering three camps for junior players this summer.
The first camp is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Other camps are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 14-17 and Aug. 4-7.
Cost is $250 per student, with $25 off for families with more than one youth enrolled. The camps are for beginners and players at the intermediate and advanced levels.
Beginner and Intermediate players, ages 7 to 17, will receive lessons in swing mechanics, the basics of rules and etiquette, beginning golf course management, short game, putting, drills, beginning tournament play and equipment information.
Advanced players will receive instruction in advanced swing mechanics, tournament rules and golf course management, in-depth short-game work and assessment, philosophy of competition, positive play and thought processes, conditioning, club fitting and swing analysis.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided daily.
Jeff Gibson, a PGA professional, is the head instructor.
