PLANT CITY Jennifer Closshey, one of two Plant City residents on the Southwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board, has been elected its secretary.

Closshey, who owns a business consulting firm, was elected by her peers at the May 27 meeting at the district's Brooksville headquarters.

She was appointed to the board in April 2005 and was elected treasurer in May 2006.
A Florida resident since 1956, Closshey is also chair ex-officio of the water management district's Alafia River Basin Board.

On April 8, Plant City native Hugh C. Gramling began a four-year term on the governing board. Gramling is executive director of Tampa Bay Wholesale Growers.

Ronald Oakley of Zephyrhills was elected to the treasurer post vacated by Closshey.
Neil Combee of Lakeland, the former vice chairman, was elected chairman.
