'Brigadoon' Opens Friday

The curtain will go up for the first time at 8 p.m. Friday for Plant City Entertainment's production of the musical "Brigadoon." The play is being staged at the Cornerstone Center, 315 N. Collins St.

The musical is the story of a Scottish village that comes to life once every 100 years. Two tourists happen to arrive there for that rejuvenation.

With a cast of 58 actors, singers and dancers, plus music by an orchestral ensemble, a pipe organ and bagpipes, the production promises to be tuneful and memorable.

Performances will continue July 19, 20, 25 and 26. Curtain goes up at 8 p.m. except for the July 20 show, which will be at 2 p.m. matinee.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $8 for patrons 55 and older and students through 12th grade.

Tickets are available at the door on a space-available basis or may be bought in advance at Hardee's Fashions, 1501 N. Wheeler St.
