PLANT CITY - Here are the contestants for 2008 Florida Strawberry Festival queen:
JORDAN ALYSSA ANDREW, daughter of Alan and Kelly Andrew. She is a junior at Durant High School. She plans to attend the University of Florida and pursue a degree in engineering. She would like to be a pediatric biomedical engineer. She is a member of the Durant band, the National Honor Society and is involved with Best Buddies.
JESSICA LEIGH ARDREY, daughter of Scott and Angela Ardrey. She is a senior in a home-school program. She plans to attend Southeastern University and study health science. Her career interests are as a dietitian, nutritionist and physical fitness adviser. She is involved in Juniorettes.
BRITNEY LYNN BALLIET, daughter of Philip and Bonnie Balliet. She is a graduate of Plant City High School and is a freshman at Hillsborough Community College pursuing a degree in elementary education. She is interested in teaching music to hearing-impaired children. She is involved in First Baptist Church of Dover's college and career outreach group.
KIRSTYN MARLETTA BROWARD, daughter of Kevin and Allene Broward. She is a senior at Plant City High School. She plans to attend the University of South Florida to pursue a degree in elementary education.
DEEDEE LIANE CARDENAS, daughter of Raul and Diane Cardenas. She is a junior at Durant High School. She plans to attend the University of South Florida to pursue a degree in elementary education with a minor in fashion design. She is the junior vice president of student government.
LAUREN BRIANN DER, daughter of Dennis and Lori Der. She is a senior at Plant City High School. She plans to attend the University of Florida and pursue a degree in agriculture. She is involved in FFA and is a member of the National Honor Society and Juniorettes.
KORTNIE BLAKE EVANS, daughter of Rob Evans and Sandra King. She is a senior at Plant City High School. She plans to attend the University of South Florida or Florida Gulf Coast University to pursue a degree in marine biology. She is involved in cross country, orchestra and the Plant City Color Guard.
ALLIE LOUISE GONZALEZ, daughter of Carlos and Marie Gonzalez. She is a junior at Durant High School. She plans to attend the University of Florida and pursue a degree in veterinary medicine. She would like to work as a veterinarian and specialize in horse care. She is involved in FFA.
KELLI LEE GRIFFIN, daughter of William Griffin and Daisy Kreg. She is a senior at Durant High School. She plans to attend the University of South Florida and pursue a degree in psychology or photography. She is involved in Mu Alpha Theta (math club), the Science Competition Club and Thespians.
REBECCA JEAN HICKS, daughter of Kenneth and Jean Hicks. She is a junior at Durant High School. She plans to attend the University of South Florida and pursue a degree in interior design. She is involved in the Durant Color Guard and coaches Dover cheerleading.
COURTNEY LYNN KABRICH, daughter of Harry and Rhonda Kabrich. She is a senior at Durant High School. She plans to attend Hillsborough Community College and the University of South Florida to study nursing. She would like to be a pediatric labor and delivery nurse. She is involved in FFA.
ALLISON MORGAN MARTIN, daughter of Jon and Sue Martin. She is a senior at Newsome High School. She plans to attend Florida State University or the University of South Florida to pursue a degree in secondary education. She is involved in student government and track, and is the captain of the varsity cheerleading squad.
KATI LEEANN MAXWELL, daughter of Scott and Deborah Maxwell. She is a senior at Durant High School. She would like to attend the University of Central Florida and pursue a degree in nursing. She is a member of the National Honor Society and is involved with FFA and student government.
MEGAN DANIELLE PREVATT, daughter of Chris and Kim Prevatt. She is a senior at Durant High School. She plans to attend Polk Community College to study business and advertising. She is involved in FFA.
JACLYN FRANCES RAULERSON, daughter of Daniel and Shirley Raulerson. She is a senior at Durant High School. She plans to attend the University of Florida or the University of Central Florida to pursue a degree in broadcast journalism and business. She would like to be an anchor for a major news station. She is a member of the Senior Council and president of the student advisory committee.
BRANDI ALEXANDRA REYERSE, daughter of Donald and Elega Reyerse. She is a senior at Durant High School. She plans to attend the University of South Florida to study child psychology. She is involved in FFA.
KRISTEN ELISE SMITH, daughter of John and June Smith. She is a graduate of Plant City High School and is in her freshman year at Southeastern University pursuing a degree in psychology with a minor is Spanish. She would like to be a guidance counselor.
LAUREN DANIELLE SMITH, daughter of John and June Smith. She is a graduate of Plant City High School and is in her freshman year at Hillsborough Community College pursuing a degree in elementary education. She would like to be a prekindergarten teacher. She is involved with the choir at Bethany Baptist and is the praise team leader for the college group.
MAHALEY FAYE SMITH, daughter of Clinton and Karen Smith. She is a junior at Durant High School. She plans to attend the University of Florida to pursue a degree in elementary education. She is involved with the high school band, Best Buddies and FFA.
AMANDA NICOLE SPARKMAN, daughter of Mark and Sara Sparkman. She is a graduate of Durant High School and is a freshman at Hillsborough Community College pursuing a degree in nursing. She would like to be a registered nurse.
PATRICIA "DANIELL" ST. MARTIN, daughter of Charles and Kathy St. Martin. She is a senior at Durant High School. She plans to attend the University of Florida and pursue a degree in business. She is involved in FFA, student council and is a member of the National Honor Society.
SHAUNIE LEIGH SURRENCY, daughter of Ken and Kim Struth. She is a junior at Plant City High School. She plans to attend the University of Florida to study medical science. She is involved in FFA and Keyettes.
KEELEE DANIELLE TOMLINSON, daughter of Ted and Glenda Tomlinson. She is a graduate of Plant City High School and is a sophomore at Hillsborough Community College pursuing a double major, pre-med and business. She would like to own a dermatology practice in Plant City.
CARLA ELIZABETH TONIONE, daughter of Robert and Melody Tonione. She is a junior at Durant High School. She plans to attend the University of South Florida to pursue a degree in the medical field. She is interested in ultrasonography. She is involved in the yearbook staff and culinary arts.
SAMANTHA LEA WILLIAMSON, daughter of Marcus and Michelle Williamson. She is a graduate of Durant High School and is a freshman at Hillsborough Community College, where she is studying agriculture. She is interested in becoming a strawberry grower.
