PLANT CITY - If you thought the flower girls at the recent Florida Strawberry Festival queen pageant looked liked they were dressed a little spiffier this year, you were right. Business owner Frances Hardee donated red and white dresses to replace the old ones, which were more than 20 years old.

Stephanie Shuff, pageant coordinator for the Plant City Lions Club Auxiliary, offered her thanks to Hardee, one of the Lions Club's past presidents. The Lions Club sponsors the pageant every year.

Hardee, owner of Hardee's Fashions, 1501 N. Wheeler St., is one of the unsung heroes. Hardee has been in the business of selling gowns, clothing and accessories since 1980.

The flower girls are part of the coronation ceremony near the end of the pageant. Kristen Elise Smith was crowned queen at the pageant Feb. 2.
Flower girls this year were Rileigh Robert and Roby Runkles.

Church Party Super In More Ways Than One

PLANT CITY - It was a super party for a Super Bowl at the home of Mark and Jennifer Hamilton for St. Peter's Episcopal Church youth.
