In The Market For A Bus?

PLANT CITY The three buses retired from service when Plant City Transit shut down June 27 as a cost-saving measure are available for purchase through a sealed bid auction.

The 2005 Ford E-40 air-conditioned minibuses are powered by 6.0-liter diesel engines. Each seats 14, accommodates two wheelchairs and is equipped with a chair lift.

The buses, with mileage readings ranging from 66,870 to 73,565, will be sold to the highest bidder, either individually or cumulatively. The minimum bid is $13,000 per bus.

Arrangements to inspect the vehicles and maintenance records can be made through Mark Emery, (813) 707-2284, or Pat Austin, (813) 707-2283.

Bid forms, available at www.plantcitygov.com under the news/announcement heading, are due by 2 p.m. Aug. 28.

Winning bidders must pay by cashier's check within five days of notice by the city staff.
