PLANT CITY - Public hearings on the voluntary annexations of 13 parcels totaling about 188 acres will be held this month.

A request to annex about 63 acres on the east side of James L. Redman Parkway between Trapnell and Kilgore roads is the largest on the list, according to a city staff report. The 63 acres is divided into six parcels with four owners: S.R. 39 Grove LLC, George and Carolyn Mead, Irma Herring and Barbara Rosson.

The other annexations include:

•About 40 acres owned by Isaac Reiter, on 4401 Frazier Lane, off Knights Griffin Road and east of Wilder Road.

•Nearly 18 acres owned by William and James Grimmer, 2301 S. Frontage Road, east of Park Road.

•About 35 acres owned by Charles and Betty Grimes at the southeast corner of Sam Allen and Wilder roads.

•About 10 acres also owned by the Grimeses at 215 N. Wilder Road, north of U.S. 92.

•About 26 acres owned by Robert and Barbara Carter and Hilda Kilgore Enterprises in the 3900 block of Lone Oak Road.

The public hearings will be held during the city commission's regularly scheduled meeting, which starts at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 27 at city hall, 302 W. Reynolds St.

If commissioners approve the annexations, the applications will be sent to the state's Department of Community Affairs for further review.
