PLANT CITY - Local volunteer artists whose motto is "sharing our God-given talents" helped brighten the holidays recently for students at the Willis Peters Exceptional Center.
Established in 1973, the center educates students with disabilities from 3 to 22 years old.
For the past several years, the Christian face-painters have devoted their time and abilities to bring smiles to the faces of students, including at the recent Christmas party at the center.
The group works with the exceptional center, local schools and Bread of Life Mission throughout the year.
The next project will be face-painting at the Willis Peters Walk-A-Thon on Feb. 1.
The face-painters range in age from preteens to senior citizens.
"There's nothing I'd rather be doing than painting all these beautiful faces," artist Ruth Geer said.
It's important that an artist gives "back the talents and gifts you have been given, to be a blessing to others," Geer said.
Organizations interested in having the face-painters at an event can call (813) 759-9383.
